Peace

This is a painting by William Strutt.

It's called 'PEACE' and refers to a passage in the bible:

The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

Isajah 11,6

I have a copy of it hanging above my sofa.
(It's huge!)

And it's one of my favourite things in my house.
(It was my greatgrandparents, so it's approx. 100 years old.)

Peace in the sense of quietness we have little at our house...
(there are four children practising piano every day)

But for me Peace is best described in one of my favourite hyms:

It is well with my soul.

  2. What a beautiful print and the fact that it has been in your family for over 100 years makes it that much more special. Four children practicing piano may be a test in tolerance now, but soon you will have beautiful music filling the rooms of your lovely home. I love piano music.

    Yes, think ..
The Bible promises that it will be like that in the entire world.
