Lamp re-vamp

I don't like clothes shopping. Shopping groceries - no fun. To motivate me to get the grocery shopping done I treat myself with a stop at my favourite goodwill/thrift store. THAT makes my heart beat faster.

This must be the most quirky find recently:

While being nearly so kitchy that it had been fun to keep the lamp foot as it was, I still decided to give it a little make over:

I gave it a good cleaning, filled it with fake apples and glued some burlap around the yellowed plastic base...

I like how it adds some fun to my living room. The shade I got at another goodwill. It looked like new!

And I like how I can chance what's inside the lamp.
Any ideas what I can stuff inside?

Edit:
Mr Viking likes the lamp.
He thinks I should fill her with candy.
I think she won't be left alone with candy inside. ;)

  1. I LOVE the lamp! I now will have my eyes open for a glass lamp I can fill when I go thrifting!

  2. For en stilig lampe!! Vet ikke om jeg hadde sett mulighetene med den selv... men denne kan du jo fylle med hva som helst! Kongler, f.eks... :)

  3. That is so cool, I've never seen a lamp like that! It was truly horrible as you found it and now it looks like an expensive designer item! You could put nuts or pebbles or pine cones or fake snow or oranges or sewing things (vintage threads) or thick brown string or ... Lots of things! But the apples look nice and fresh!

  6. Love your lamp!

How about filling it with found objects or natural finds from the beach?

Or even a couple of small pieces of driftwood.

Or switch it up every month!
